CAD

CAD is the cornerstone of how we operate. Error 404 designs everything in CAD first and then we custom manufacture almost one hundred percent of the robot components. Whether or not your team designs in CAD or simply models already constructed parts, CAD is an effective way to visualize and communicate your robot's design. We separate our CAD models, and therefore our physical robot, into generations. Gen 0 is a basic chassis and sometimes a prototype mechanism -- usually taken to Meet 1. Gen 1 and Gen 2 are generally our league meets and league championship. Gen 3 is Regionals and Gen 4 is Worlds.

Cut out of a 1/2" HDPE sheet with a CNC router. Has a hole for a gyro in the middle and motor mount rods.

Motor Module which attached to the mount rods on the chassis. Is secure yet easily removable. Printed out of ABS with carbon fibre connection pieces and powered by a REV HD 40:1 DC motor.

Bumper/Servo Mount

The bumpers help with sliding against the field walls and they also help stiffen the wheel modules. The front bumpers have thin plastic taped to them to act as shields for the front wheels. This is so that minerals won't get caught up in the wheels during autonomous.
